An easy treat for Valentine’s Day or just because! 🍫💝💌

Have you ever had one of those rare kitchen wins where everything actually works perfectly? For me, those moments only happen when I have the kitchen to mysel, no kids, no little hands grabbing ingredients. Today was one of those lucky days (don’t get me wrong I love those little hands in the kitchen, but also nice to just relish in your own thoughts for a short time).

Instead of attempting something complicated, I decided to make peanut butter chocolate hearts. With Valentine's Day approaching, these seemed like the perfect homemade treat for neighbors and family. And let me tell you: this was way easier than I expected. (This was originally going to be a hot chocolate bomb post, but I'm so glad I pivoted!)

What You'll Need

How to Make Peanut Butter Chocolate Hearts

Step 1: Create the chocolate shell Melt your first bowl of chocolate and brush it into the silicone mold, making sure all sides are completely covered. Refrigerate for 20 minutes until set.

Step 2: Add the peanut butter filling Fill a piping bag with peanut butter (no need to cool it first) and pipe it into each chocolate shell, leaving room at the top.

Step 3: Seal with chocolate. Melt your second batch of chocolate and transfer it to a piping bag. Pipe the melted chocolate over the peanut butter to seal each heart. Use a frosting knife to level off the bottoms for a clean finish.

Step 4: Final chill Place the mold back in the refrigerator for 30 minutes. Make sure the mold sits flat so the chocolates cool evenly.

Step 5: Unmold and enjoy Flip the mold over onto a cutting board and pop out your finished hearts!

Tips for Success

The key to perfect chocolate hearts is ensuring complete chocolate coverage on that first layer. I learned this the hard way when I attempted carrot-shaped chocolates for Easter, incomplete coverage meant uneven results. This time, the ratio was spot-on, and they turned out beautifully uniform except maybe one or two (which became my taste testers 😌)

Now that I've mastered the technique, this is definitely becoming a family activity. It's perfect for rainy afternoons or snowy weekends with the kids. Simple, fun, and delicious, what more could you want in a Valentine's Day treat?
