About me…
Hi, I’m Sarah! I’m new to blogging, new to the online content space, but not new to coffee and cookies. I started this as a way to document the recipes we use in our family, but also to share love and joy with yours.
On my daughter, Elizabeth’s second birthday, I started writing a journal to her. I don’t write everything down, but when something extra important or cute happens - whether it’s a little victory or a spontaneous moment of joy, I make sure to capture it. It might be a laugh, a gesture, or something she said that I don’t want to forget. Writing it down helps me hold onto that memory and share it with her later. It’s my way of freezing time. Every time I look back at these notes, I’m reminded of just how special she is and how much I cherish the moments we share as a family. One day when I was writing in it I was writing about how if I could capture the smiles that her and her sister give to each other when they are playing I would be the happiest person. And it was then that I realized I can bottle that, if I’m with them every day I will see them grow and develop together. It’s obviously not all rainbows and butterflies, it’s tough work but at the end of the day we share our love with a family hug. That gets me through. That and coffee and cookies (did you like that transition). Ha!
In all seriousness though, the ritual of morning coffee is hard to break and sets me up for my day. It is grounding and offers a moment of calm before the storm of the day. If my coffee is bad, we are not off to a good start. Coffee is not just a drink; it’s a peaceful pause of goodness and warmth. Whether good or bad, our day typically ends with a cookie (or a few). The taste of a little sweetness and usually a little chocolate to savor before turning in for the night. New experiences, new memories everyday and always starting with coffee and ending with cookies.
