Magnolia Table Buttermilk Pancakes

The best pancakes I’ve made — super easy for little helpers.

These are honestly the best pancakes I've found. I couldn’t get pancakes right until I tried this recipe: incredibly fluffy, reliably tender, and simple enough for kids to help with. Last Sunday was snowy and bitterly cold, so instead of playing outside my four‑year‑old grabbed the syrup and yelled, “Let’s make pancakes!” and naturally, that’s exactly what we did.

It turned into a perfect, cozy Sunday morning screen‑free activity for the whole family. Let your littles pour the wet ingredients (Cookie Countess is a kitchen must have), measure the flour, or my favorite have them sprinkle in the chocolate chips for extra excitement. This warm, family‑friendly recipe comes from Joanna Gaines’ Magnolia Table cookbook.

Magnolia Table Buttermilk Pancakes

Ingredients

  • 2 cups All Purpose Flour

  • 1/4 cup Sugar

  • 1 Tablespoon baking powder

  • 2 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt

  • 2 cups buttermilk*

  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil

  • 2 large eggs

  • Butter

  • Maple syrup

*I don’t typically keep buttermilk at home so we make it with 2 cups of milk and a tablespoon of vinegar and let it sit for 5 minutes.
