Homemade Dirty Chai Latte - No added sugar!
Honestly, my Nespresso keeps surprising me. π€
Every time I use it I think okay, this is cool and then I go and make something like today's drink and think, nope, this machine has already paid for itself. At the rate I'm saving on expensive espresso drinks, I'll have made up the cost in a single month. No exaggeration. If you've been on the fence, this is the one I have. Be sure to get the frother, itβs a game changer!!
Today I made a dirty chai latte with almost zero sugar and the secret is using actual tea instead of a concentrate. Game changer. It tastes like the real thing, cozy and spiced and just right, without all the hidden sweetness you get from a bottle.
Iced Dirty Chai Latte
Ingredients
1 cup water
2 chai tea bags
1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk or to your liking (plus extra for cold foam)
1 shot espresso
1β2 teaspoons maple syrup or honey (optional, to taste)
1 cup ice
Ground cinnamon, for garnish
Instructions
Brew a strong cup of chai tea using 2 tea bags per mug and letting it steep a little longer than usual so the spices really shine through. Once brewed, allow it to cool slightly.
Fill a glass with ice and pour in a splash of almond milk. Add a shot of espresso for that much-needed afternoon pick-me-up, then slowly pour the strong chai over the top.
Finish with a layer of cold foam (I used almond milk cold foam) and a light dusting of cinnamon for the perfect cozy touch. You could also add some maple syrup or honey for added sweetness.
Enjoy!
That's it. Refreshing, creamy, just the right amount of kick, and honestly so delicious it might be my permanent go-to now.
If you have a Nespresso sitting on your counter, please try this. You won't regret it. β
