I thought it only fitting that my very first post would be dedicated to the ritual that inspires my mornings and fuels my creativity: coffee. Not just any coffee, but the perfect cup, made with my own homemade vanilla creamer that turns a simple brew into something café froth worthy.

After years of trying different creamers, I wanted something that was both plant-based and indulgent, with a natural vanilla flavor and silky texture. That’s how I came up with my recipe for Velvet Vanilla Creamer. When paired with half and half and the invention of the milk frother (the easy to clean one I use linked here), it transforms everyday coffee into a comforting, cloudlike experience. Recently, we went on a week long vacation with my family and my coffee ritual in the morning was horrible because I didn’t have my vanilla creamer. I say again, when my coffee is not good in the morning it is really disappointing and I can’t wait until I have my next cup of coffee to make it better. I hope this Vanilla Creamer makes your coffee as enjoyable as it makes mine.

Velvet Vanilla Creamer

Yield: ~1 cups
Storage: Refrigerate in an airtight container (my favorite pourable container linked here) for up to one week.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk

  • 1/2 cup unsweetened coconut milk (full-fat, shaken well)

  • 1 teaspoons vanilla bean paste

  • Optional: 1 - 2 teaspoons maple syrup, for light sweetness

Instructions

Place all ingredients in a bowl and mix together with a milk frother. Once combined put in a mason jar or glass milk bottle and store in the fridge for up to one week (if it lasts that long).

My Perfect Cup of Coffee

Once the Velvet Vanilla Creamer is ready, here’s how I create my morning ritual:

  1. In a mug, combine equal parts Velvet Vanilla Creamer and half & half.

  2. Microwave for 30 seconds, just until warm.

  3. Froth with a handheld milk frother until light and airy.

  4. Pour the frothy mixture over a freshly brewed cup of hot coffee.

The result is smooth, aromatic, and perfectly balanced without being heavy, sweet without being sugary. Every sip feels like the perfect start to the day.

Why This Works

The almond and coconut base creates a natural creaminess that mimics traditional dairy, while the half & half adds body and a touch of indulgence. Vanilla rounds out the flavor, making the coffee feel like a treat, even on the busiest mornings.

This recipe is more than just a creamer it’s the foundation of my morning ritual. And I couldn’t think of a better way to kick off this blog than by sharing it with you.
